Alexis got my curse! I was always sick on Valentines Day, like puking my guts out. I would get so excited and make my cute Valentines box to take to school when you pass out Valentines and then I would be super sick. I would beg my Mom usually to let me go. The curse lessened when I got older to just a cold. I have not had the Valentines curse sense I was 19. So I have never really liked the day much... and Jaron is always gone. But now the curse has started with Alexis. She was sick on Valentines Day. She had her first real fever. It was just a viral thing and after puking in the car twice, and 2 days of a fever and 6 days of no appetite and diarrhea she was as good as new! Me and Jaron got it as well. So we all just laid around the house all week and didn't eat. It was a great weight loss sickness! So I really didn't mind! Lexi had a cute Valentines outfit but didn't get to wear it. Luckily it should still work for next year. So you can see it then! But my mom did make a really cute Valentines dress for her. She hates to crawl in it. Which I rarely let her down when she is wearing it. Because I am a freak and don't want it to get dirty. Jaron was actually home for Valentines day! It was the first time in 5 years. With having a sick baby we enjoyed a comfy night at home. Jaron made a yummy dinner, Ribs and asparagus. We made a rule this year no gifts. We are actually being conservative for once. But of course we both broke the rules but not by much. Jaron got me tulips that lasted 2 weeks and a box of chocolates. I made Jaron a Valentine and some white chocolates. That was our holiday and first experience being sick.

Vegas
A few weeks ago Jaron and I went to Las Vegas. We thought we were going into warm weather. Well it was 0 degrees at home but 55 degrees in Las Vegas. So yes, a improvement but still a little to chilly. We stayed at the Luxor. I really like it there. It is nice and cheap. I was able to see most of my step family that lives down there. It was good to see them! I don't get to enough! I got to hang out with my older step sister and my two nieces. Her girls are so cute! Lexi has a new cousin a few months younger than her. She was fascinated by this little baby. She kept wanting to see what she was and grab her. We ate at some yummy buffets and walked some of the strip. I'm not into gambling at all so I was ok on missing out on that since I couldn't park Alexis in the stroller next to me. It was a last second trip and I forgot my camera. So I only have a few pictures from my phone.
Cabin Getaway
We were able to go on a nice little get away up to Heber with some friends. It was nice to get away from everything, have no cell phone service, and be in a cozy big cabin!! I had so much fun! The Boys went snowmobiling most of the time. His friends have now talked him into getting a snowmobile... I'm not quite on board with it yet though. Jaron took Alexis and I on little ride. She loved it! She would scream and laugh! We put her in between us to keep her more warm and she wanted to stand up and bounce the whole time. We didn't stay out to long because it was to cold for her. The girls did face masks and hair goopy stuff while the boys were out. We also took family pictures out in the snow. It was a ton of fun!

Something Here and There
It was Auntie M's Birthday dinner on Super Bowl Sunday. (Marcie) Jaron left out of town for work after 2 months so I was super bored so me and Lexi played dressed up with her! Lexi is very affectionate when she wants to be. She loves to give kisses and hugs... on her terms. But they mean so much more knowing you can't make her give them to you.
Alexis and I like to go visit my Dad at work when we are down that way. This day she decided she was going to help him with his work by going through everything on his desk.
I've never been able to cut Alexis's nails when she was sleeping. She always wakes up. So we give her a mini manicure every time. We cut, and file her nails every few days and she just sits there and watches me. Most people don't believe me when I tell them she is so good for it. So here is the proof.
Addison performed at half time of the Flash Game a few weeks ago. Alexis liked the noise makers, but other than that she was a pooper the rest of game.
Alexis LOVES the washer and dryer! Our laundry room is right next to her room so she always is sneaking away to go in there and watch them. One day I turned my back after getting her out of the bath, and she was gone. I found a towel in the hall and a naked baby dancing at the washer. It was pretty funny and cute. But here are some more appropriate pictures of her with her favorite thing to watch.

11 months
Alexis is officially 11 months now! I can't believe in a few weeks my baby will be 1! I thought I was ready for this, but today I was officially packing her clothes that she had grown out of away so I can store them. Seeing all her cute little outfits that she didn't wear that long ago was so sad and so hard! I found a few newborn diaper and started to cry a little. I know I'm a nerd! I am just remembering this time last year and how I was feeling. I want to have that first week again with Alexis. It's funny to look back because I was so clueless and had no idea about anything! Alexis has changed so much since then! The last month I am starting to see her change from being a baby to the beginner toddler stages. I'm not sure if I'm ready for it but ready or not here it comes. She is pulling herself up to everything and walking around. Her favorite is the fridge and playing with the magnets or the TV stand. The TV stand has become a problem. She loves to get into everything on it. I don't know how to baby proof anymore besides getting a new one and that's not a option. I did think about Saran wrapping it so she could push all the buttons or pull cords. She has almost given up the army crawl and just crawls normal. She is a complete Mommy's Girl. I can't get anything done with out her screaming "MAMA!!" Yes I created a monster! I didn't take the advice of Don't hold your baby 24/7 because I did and now she thinks she still needs to. She ways a lot more though and I got tendinitis in my wrist from carrying her so much. No joke. The Dr. diagnosed it. I'm not being a hypocondriact. So this is why you don't carry your child everywhere. So I just let her scream my name a lot more now. She likes to use me as a jungle gym a lot. That's fun... Can you tell I let her run my life! lol I don't mind that is what kids are for. I am now trying to get her party planned now! Which is so much fun! So next month look forward to fun party pictures!!

Alexis's first Owie
Alexis got her first major owie a little over a week ago. I am still getting use to the idea of I need to baby proof my house and keep everything out of her reach. Everyday gets worse. I swear her arms grow and she can reach more. Well on this occasion I plugged the crock pot into our island outlet which I should have know better because she loves to pull my cell phone down while its charging right there and play with it. But silly me I didn't. Luckily I was barely plugged not hot nothing in it and not the glass lid on it or there would have been some major drama. I plugged it in. She walked over in her friendly like walker and pulled it right down as I am turning around making a call a to a friend. It was kind of funny because my friend answered the phone and I'm screaming NO!!! And then Alexis is screaming. So now we are not allowed to use the island plugs anymore. I don't have pictures of this but a few days later her little aunt was taking her shirt off and accidentally got the button and scratched her face, and then the next day after that Alexis clawed at her eye and scratched it. So it looked like I just beat the crap out of her all last week. (Yes I do cut her nails and file them ALL the time but she is a master at scratching herself) I know there are many more owie's to come but the first one is always hard.

Ode to the Ball Pit
Ode to the Ball Pit
Oh how I love my Ball Pit
How I love to climb in and out of my Ball Pit all day long
How I love to hide in my Ball Pit from my mommy and Daddy
How I love to try and eat the balls out of my Ball Pit... Yummy
How I love to be Silly in my Ball Pit!!
How I love to have my friends come play with me in my Ball Pit!!

Mini Hole = Mini Stroke
Our life is never dull at the Laird house!! I know I do not have a hard life or to bad because I know so many other people in such harder and worse situations than me. So this is not a sob fest, just an update fest for all the people that have been getting a play by play phone call from my mother.
Last week I experienced something that is very hard for me to explain. So sorry if things don't make sense or a little off. Well Alexis and I were watching The Bachelor last week. She was playing on the floor and I was on the computer looking at Facebook eating Ice Cream. (Very Exciting so far!) Then my ears started to ring, my eyes started to do something funky, and I was extremely dizzy. I thought I was faking it or making myself do it so I tried to talk myself out of being dizzy for a second when it got worse and I really thought I was going to pass out. I have never been that disoriented and dizzy ever. My eyes weren't normal but I can't tell you what they were doing cause I don't know I just couldn't focus or see normal. But because I was extremely disoriented and dizzy I decided I should lay my head on the table just in case I did pass out. So as I was moving to do this I got stuck. I just couldn't move. My left arm was all numb and I couldn't move so I was like a rag limp doll hanging there. I couldn't talk. I was just stuck there but was screaming in my head what is going on!! Then my hearing went back to normal and I could move. And I found Lexi trying to get into her swing. So I had to start thinking about her.
So to shorten the long story up. I ended up going to ER to make sure I hadn't had a stroke. My mom and mother in law were both very worried and convinced I needed to be checked out. The ER Dr. asked me some ? and once finding out all my medical history of head injuries. He was convinced it is a weird neurological migraine that can give you stroke like symptoms that I was experiencing. So I'm like ok I look like a complete idiot. Get me out of the ER. So they gave me medicine to help me with my nausea and dizziness. Then I got out of there as fast as I could. I felt dizzy and nauseous for days after on and off. So I figured it was just part of the head ache.
Luckily I had my regular follow up with my neurologist a few days later. I told him what happened. He was didn't believe it was a neurological migraine because I had no head ache before or after this. If I was getting these type of headaches I would get some type of symptoms usually before, which I had none. So he told me that there could be a few things that could have caused this and I had to get some tests done. First was a MRI to see how my brain was doing after this, Second was a ultrasound on my carotid artery to see if it was blocked, and Third was a TEE to see if I had a whole in my heart. He said he has seen this a few times before and that was usually the problem.
So Friday I went for the MRI, and Ultrasound. Yesterday I talked to my neurologists MA and she said those came back normal. So I asked her what does that mean and she said just that my artery wasn't blocked, and I didn't have a blood clot in my brain and I had no memory loss. But I would have to ask the Dr. the rest on my follow up. So because all of that came back normal I tried to get out of the heart test because it is so freaking expensive. (Yes, I'm one of those people that when you get hurt I care more about the bill than the health.) But they wouldn't let me get out of the TEE. (a TEE is like a ECG but instead they put a tube down my throat and test behind my heart. It is more accurate than a ECG and shows more info such as chamber size, how much blood is flowing, and all that besides just the rhythm.)
Today we got up bright and early for the test. The actual test is super short but they have to put me out for it so it felt like it took days to get it all done. Well we found out I do have a whole in my heart. When babies are born they have wholes in their heart and when they grow it closes up. Mine never did. This happens quite often for people. A lot of people never even have any problems with this. And then some are like me where they experience a Mini Stroke. So I know I will be getting this fixed now. It's a super easy procedure they go through a artery and put a plug in where the whole is that opens up kind of like a umbrella and then it grows to my heart. I have a lot of people calling me and stressing and this is why I am writing this to let you know you don't have to. It's not a big deal and will be fixed very easy. I will keep you informed on when I will be getting this done and how it all goes!
Thank you for everyone that has been praying for me and supporting me! I love you all so very much!!!
