2 Weeks Old

Alexis is 2 weeks old today! It is crazy how fast it has gone by already!! She went to her check up this morning and has grown 1 1/4" already. She also weighs 7 lbs and 8 oz now. She is very healthy and doing great. She tried peeing on the Dr. as well.

We survived Jaron's first trip away from us. He was only gone for 3 nights and 2 days, but it was still no fun. My mom came and stayed with us to help out. It was very hard for Jaron to leave his little potato bug!
I'm learning what I can and can not eat that will upset her stomach. She's a very good baby so far!! Jaron and I have taken turns getting up with her and getting her to sleep every night. It helps a ton to have a great partner.

On Monday I felt like a official mom after getting peed on and puked all over. She isn't a puker so it was quite a shocker to have her do that. I am loving being a mom! It is worth all the many stretch marks and extra weight! Yesterday I left Alexis with Jaron for a few hours while I went to my sister in laws scentsy party and the grocery store. It was so hard!! I had anxiety leaving her! By the time I was in the check out line I was dieing thinking I was never going to get home! lol Who knew it would be so hard to go to the grocery store!

Alexis was making the funniest faces on Saturday

She met her Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Van

She loves her swing! It's so funny to watch her in it because she's so tiny in it

I bonked Alexis head and felt sad! (No worries not hard just barely) It was the first time we ever made her cry. Very sad moment.

She does great on car rides. She passes right out!

St. Patricks Day

I meant for this to get posted yesterday but didn't get it done. Alexis wanted to say Happy St. Patricks Day to everyone!!

My Baby

I had to show off Alexis some more!! She is the most photographed baby I think! My sister came from Idaho to see Alexis when we were in the hospital and took a few quick pictures of her. They turned out great!! She is just gorgeous!! We love our little potato bug!

Our first day home

Alexis came home on Monday! We had to stay a extra day because of the C-Section. Jaron and I were very ready to go home!! We were welcomed home with pink balloons and a big sign on our front lawn that said "It's a girl" We loved our surprise!! My mother in law was so nice to do it for us. It was weird to be home with our baby. We weren't quite sure what to do. We introduced Roxy and Harley to her. I wasn't sure how they would handle it. I thought Harley would hate her like how he hated when Roxy came home. And Roxy wouldn't mind her. Well I was wrong. Harley likes her and is very curious. He has given her a few licks and it make Alexis jump which makes him jump. He thought that the balls on the end of her pants were toys too. It was funny. On the other hand. Roxy hates her. She growls under her breath every time she makes a noise. She is so jealous of her! She knows something has taken her place as the princess. We try to give them loves still but it is hard when we have our angel! They both are getting more and more use to her everyday. We are trying to get in a routine with her. She likes to be awake for 3 to 4 hours in the middle of the night and sleep all morning and early afternoon. I couldn't do this new adventure with out Jaron! He is such a great dad!! We take turns with diapers. and getting up with her at night. It has made me love and appreciate him so much more! Who knew a baby could make us this much closer! I am so impressed on how good he is with Alexis! Being home with my cute little family is great! I am so excited for this new journey we are taking!

Alexis Lorraine Laird is here!!

I would like you to meet my daughter, Alexis Lorraine Laird, and tell you how she came into this world. She was born early Friday morning, March 12, 2010, at 2:10 am. She weighed 7 lb 2 oz. So lets back up to the story on how she came into this world. On Wed. I was really hoping of hearing good news at the Dr. and having her that day. I found out I barely changed. I was devastated!! We had Jaron come home a day early from England and everything because I had a lot of the signs of going into labor. So I was desperate and did all the old wives tales to try and induce you. Still nothing so Thursday I did the last one Castor oil. The taste sucked but I could deal with it. The worst part was the burps from it. It wasn't to bad like I heard about. I was better by that night and was sad still nothing.

So me and Jaron got sucked into a door sales guy. While we were talking to them I started to get contractions 3 minutes apart. Not bad ones but ones that were very consistent and kind of hurt. So we ended up getting a security system that night, and they came and installed it that night. By the time they were done my contractions were still 3 min. apart but hurting worse. Jaron didn't think we needed to go to the hospital but I made him take me at 10:30 pm.

So we get to the hospital and get all our info to them and my contractions are 1 min apart but I could only feel every 3. But Alexis's heart beat was lower than they would like from 117-140 and they wanted 150 and higher. They told us they would watch us for a hour and see how she does. Right after that the Dr. comes in and tells us lets go ahead and break my water. Jaron was in shock. He was like Right Now? Like wait are you sure. It was funny. He sat on the couch for a min trying to process it. So around a hour after that I am wanting my epidural because I am the biggest baby and a lot less brave than I thought. Contractions Suck!! But I had to wait for almost 2 more hours for the guy to come in because he was in with a c-section.

After I got it I was great! So I'm talking to Jaron, my mom, Lori, and Gary, and all of a sudden the nurses come rushing in freaking out because Alexis's heart beat had really dropped to 40. They rolled me to my other side checked the monitor and gave me a shot and said they were giving me a emergency C-Section. One nurse gave Jaron operating outfit while they wheeled me into the other room. Everyone was in shock and I was bawling because I was scared for my baby. So I get in the operating room and there are people running around freaking out and I'm still not sure what all is going on. I just wanted Jaron. The anesthesiologist starts asking me if I can feel my stomach because they were trying to numb me fast. Well it wasn't numbing fast enough. Jaron comes in long enough to hear them tell me I'm getting put out then they kick him out. I don't remember anything after that. I guess they had Jaron leave the room so they didn't see them shove a tube down my throat. Jaron went down to the nursery with Alexis after she was born along with his parents and my mom. I wake up fast after being put under so they didn't expect it so they weren't there. So I wake up and don't know what's going on if I had my baby or what. They had to tell me. I was looking so forward to her actual birth and that experience so I just started bawling and couldn't stop saying I missed it all! and I want my baby! She needed to go get warmed up in the nursery for the first few hours. Until I was able to see her I watched a video that Gary had taken of her. I saw her 2 hours later and just cried!!

Jaron told me when she came out she had her eyes wide open and cried right away. He had to watch outside the door and look through the window. She cried right away and all the panic in the room just went away. From the time the nurses came in and got me and Alexis was born was 5-10 minutes.

She is so beautiful!! I can't believe she came from me and Jaron!! She is the biggest blessing in our lives. I don't know what we did without her!! She is a very healthy girl now!!

38 WEEKS

I'm 38 weeks and 2 days! Almost There!! So I obviously didn't have Alexis's last week like we were really hoping! I tried really hard to get her here and she just wasn't ready. I went walking all the time and go on bumpy car rides. I could always get some really good contractions going on that would hurt and last 50 sec. but they would go away as soon as I would stop and sit down. So they weren't real.
Jaron left to England on Saturday morning. His work added a day to his schedule and he will be home on Monday night now. So I have been taking it very easy sense he left. I am a parnoid freak and didn't move the first day. I stayed at my moms the first half of the week. My sister in law has came over and vacuumed for me. gave my dogs a bath and helped do little things around the house. We're all so nervous for her to come when Jaron is gone. So it's great to have such good family that is willing to help take care of me and let me be lazy this week!!

I went to the Dr. today and I hadn't changed from the last two check ups so it must not be working by not moving this week. lol We decided to strip my membranes to try and get her here next week. So hopefully she doesn't come in a few days but hopefully it works well enough she comes Wednesday. I have always said I want her on March 10th sense I got pregnant. So she better come that day! lol Both me and Jaron's birthdays are on the 10th so she needs to be too! We're really trying!! She will only be a few days early too so I she should be big and strong enough to come!

I don't realize how huge I am sometimes. I feel huge and it is hard to move but when I see my pictures of my belly I want to die! I always told everyone how huge I would be and people didn't believe me. Well look at the picture it speaks for it's self. I only have gotten a few little stretch marks on my belly (that I can see). I don't think they'll be bad afterwards. I hope! I have exercised a little, like once a week. And I eat crappy. So yes that is why I have gotten big everywhere else, but I'm determind to get it off!! I don't know how long it will take because I hear it's kind of hard. But I'm giving myself 6 months before I get discouraged! I am really hoping my hips go back in afterwards too. Time will tell.

I'm super excited for Alexis to come!! Everything is done. So now all I'm doing is writing this super long blog and I keep making hair bows for her. So now she'll have 500 more! lol I'll keep you all updated because I know we're all to excited for her to come and to stop hearing me complain about being pregnant! lol

Alexis's Nursery

My nursery is finished!!! I am SO excited!! Thank you to everyone that helped me get there!! My mom made all the crib bedding, chair cushions, changing pad cover, revised my bassinet, blankets, and car seat cover! I always say she can just do anything but forget how much work it really takes. She did awesome and I love all my stuff!! We redid our crib that we bought for cheap off KSL, and were very lucky to get a dresser from my in laws that we redid, and a rocking chair from my mom that we redid. So we really lucked out on furniture!! Because of our great parents donations we were able to get all the extras and make this nursery perfect! Me and Jaron painted. My dad and Grandpa put up the chair rail for us. And the other day my sister in law came over and helped me get the decals on the wall and finish hanging all the last things! So this room really did take a lot effort from lots of my family! Thanks a ton! (The only thing I have left to add is the chandlier chain cover.) This little girl is already spoiled to death!! Just look at her closet full of clothes already! We also have been very very lucky for the gifts from our parents!! (One of the only perks of having divorced parents!) My mom, sisters, and sister in laws got me my Pack in Play! The one we originally picked out was sold out so we went for my second choice. It's so cute and has every feature imaginable! The bed vibrates, it plays 5 songs, 5 nature sounds, night light, has a bassinet, removable changing table, and I think a few more things that I can't think of. I love playing with it and can't wait for her to use it! My Dad and step Mom got me a swing! I haven't seen it yet but I can't wait to play with it!! And my in laws helped us get our travel system stroller/car seat. This is what I looked into the most!! I read reviews for months, we went to stores and would jog up and down the isles to make our decision. I wanted a jogging one so I can use it to get my baby weight off and be able to take it out for normal stuff too. So to get everything in one was so exciting! I can't wait to go for a good jog with it! I just wanted to show off all the cool things Alexis has and to make sure I Thanked everyone that made it possible!

My Goodbye to the Puppy

This little guy left on Wednesday. I got VERY attached to him!! Because he was the last one left he was with us all the time. I really wanted my mom to get him like I begged her because I didn't want to let him go. She's just not ready for a dog yet. Maybe next liter... But because I'm a hormonal mess it was quite funny for how attached I got to this little guy. He was taking my baby void away. We kept trying to name him because he started to answer to puppy. We called him Rambo for a day because he was tiny! Then I decided that was dumb and called him Tiger to be funny. We always had people interested in him but we wouldn't lower the price because he was such the perfect little thing. But all of a sudden we had 4 phone calls and 5 emails about him in a 24 hour period. The first person that called through me off because I wasn't ready for him to leave me. So me being the pregnant hormonal girl I started bawling and went to Jaron. Well he wonders why I'm hysterical and thinks someone died. Then he finds out it was the dog and gets mad at me because I was freaking out so bad. So that upsets me even more. I bawled for a hour straight and on and off the rest of the night. I couldn't look at the dog or anything because I was so heart broken. It is really stupid and I make fun of myself so go ahead and laugh too! I knew the whole time I couldn't keep the dog so it was crazy how I was acting. The rest of the puppies went to people we knew so it made it so much easier! But I am now puppy free! These were such good puppies I didn't have much mess to clean up. Harley and Roxy are so happy to have them gone! They are back to themselves.

Jaron's new Toy

Jaron got his new toy yesterday! I'm so happy for him! He got another Raptor 700 but with more stuff done to it and it's fuel injected so it's suppose to do better in the mountains than our last one. I wonder if it really does or he just tells me that because I wanted a mountain machine instead. He sold his other Raptor 1 1/2 years ago when times got tough . It was a very sad day!! Jaron had a hard time not having it last summer. He works so hard and gives up a lot for our family! So he totally deserves it! We wanted to make sure he got it before Alexis came because that little girl is going to be a spoiled one! We know all our money will go to her now and we're ok with that! If you have a 4 wheeler don't be surprised if Jaron calls everyday to go

Almost there

I am about 37 weeks!! Hallelujah! I went to the Dr. on Friday and got the fun check up that everyone loves... Well I'm dilated to a 2 and 80% effaced. So the 2 is not to exciting because I could stay that way for another month but the 80% was something to get my hopes up! I know I shouldn't have my hopes up but I totally do! The last week I have been having more contractions mostly braxton hicks though. Nothing that I can't get rid of after laying down so there not for real. I told everyone I was going to have her at 37 weeks so maybe my mind set really has payed off. haha Jaron leaves to England on Saturday the 27th for 9 days. It would probably take him at least 13 hours to get home if I call him in the middle of the week and say get here now! Most people have thought we were crazy to have him go the whole time with it being so close to my due date. Well what you need to realize is how big of a week it is! Like a lot of money. With having a brand new baby and Dr. bills it would be great to be able to have the extra money. So we are really hoping he will be able to go. For that to be possible Alexis needs to come Monday or Tuesday or wait until March 8th. Children are not convent like that. But we both agree that money is not worth him missing his daughters birth. We are going to see how this weeks goes and what my Dr. says at the visit this week and then decide. So if you have a kid tell me what you did to get yourself dilated. I haven't tried anything crazy yet because I wanted to wait until I hit the official 37 weeks. I am even more uncomfortable being pregnant and retaining tons of water but I'm much more ok with it than I was the last few weeks. I loved loved to complain the last 5 weeks because I'm a onry mess. My 35th week I bawled and had nervous break downs almost everyday. Over what I don't know. I was just a emotional mess. Jaron didn't know what to do with me. I was also so mean to him but he has been so good to me and hasn't been mean back or gotten frustrated with me. His selective hearing has just gotten better. lol But now that I'm getting closer I am more ok with all the annoying pregnancy pains and everything that goes along with is because I know she will be here any day or week. I keep annoying my family to death because every time I get a real contraction I have to call them but then I never get more or have them consistent. All I can think of is this baby! It's crazy! I dream about her and wake up in the middle of the night, on my pee breaks, and just stare at her bassinet and just think soon I'll be waking up to a little cry in there. Crazy I'm excited for that. In a few weeks I'll be like what was I thinking! lol We are finishing up the last of the baby stuff finally! I'm almost there! YEAH!!

My Dyson

I finally gave in and got a Dyson. I have been doing my research and debating for the last few weeks on what vacuum to get. Thanks for all the input on my earlier post. Well I didn't want to spend all the money to get a Dyson. Jaron told me for Valentines day to just get whatever one I wanted. I think I was driving him nuts because I couldn't decide. Super romantic present, but it's all good because it is a kick ass vacuum. I was going to get the refurbished one but this week I was lucky enough to find them on sale. Woo Hoo! Can't beat that so I got the DC 25 with the 5 year warranty. No more buying a new vacuum every year! I used it for the first time today. It was grose to see how dirty my carpets were that I never would've got from my other vacuum. I've only used it for a day but I'm in love with it! I highly recommend it!!

PUPPIES 6 weeks

Roxy's puppies are 6 weeks old. They have gotten so big but really they are her smallest liter she has had. By now they are very mobile and all over the place! These 4 little ones are still quite small and very calm. (Well for puppies) We only have 1 active little girl. She is the brains of the liter. We keep them in a baby pool to keep them out of everything and she is the only one that ventures out into the unknown laundry room. But she gets upset she can't get back in with the rest of them. She was sold for the last week and a half and we just found out yesterday the person that was going to come get her today couldn't get her. So we are now looking for a home for her and the runt as well. Our runt is adorable!! He still fits in the palm of my hand! I am in love with this little guy. I would keep him if I wasn't due in a few weeks. I don't think it's fair to the dog because he would get so much attention the next 4 weeks and then a new baby would take over his place. I just wouldn't have the time to train and give him what he needs. If you or anyone you know wants these darling little puppies let me know!! I am worried if they don't find a home within the next 2 weeks they'll get attached to us and we will to them and that will just make the whole process of them leaving so much harder. We have our Caly that is super cute, sweet and shy! My friend Hydee is giving her a great home next week! And then we have our other little guy which is going to a guy Jaron works with. His ears stand straight up and has the funniest personality! Please contact me if you want to give these dogs a great home!! AKC certified pure breed Yorkshire Terrier, tails docked, dew claws removed, and first set of shots given.

35 weeks

So I'm 35 weeks, and 1 day, but who's really counting... I can not wait to have this baby! I complain a lot! And when I say a lot I really mean it. I have this special gift for complaining! I really don't have any unusual pregnancy or a hard one. It's pretty normal so I don't have anything extra to complain about it. I just do. So sorry for all that always have to listen to me!

I figure if I go 2 more weeks it would be perfect! It would be the week before Jaron goes to England so we don't have to worry the whole time he is there and I will be 37 weeks so the baby should be big and strong enough to come. Wish me luck on this because I'm going to need it! I'm pretty sure I won't go early though. My blood pressure was pretty high for a while and had some crazy braxton hicks a few weeks ago so the Dr. said there was a chance. But my bp went down and braxton hicks are quite normal now. So all hope of going early are gone. Which I should be happy because that means Lexi is probably a healthy little bug! But on my negative note: I am done with all the aches and pains, I feel like someone took me out back and just beat me up most days, I'm done with peeing every 2 seconds, I'm done with looking like a mammoth whale, swelling up like a balloon (I would like to see my ankle bones again), and the worst of all I'm starting to get stretch marks! AGH! Scary! So yes like I said normal stuff to complain about but I'm sick of it.

I'm defiantly ready to be a mom and the non sleep nights. I already am getting up all the time to pee but I have weird sleeping schedules. Like the other night I woke up at 3am and was wide awake. I read for a while, went and hung some shelves in the nursery, played with the puppies and finally went back to sleep at 6. Harley was like what are we doing up?! He's not going to love this baby at first.

I have been trying to not take advantage of the last few weeks of not being parent but it is hard! I've been trying to get some books read, finish the baby stuff I have been working on, and take naps. Me and Jaron thought about going on a last minute trip but couldn't decide where to go with the weather conditions everywhere and going somewhere with a beach is not good because no one wants to see me in a bikini right now. So we decided that was out. If you have any good ideas of what to do before coming a parent I would love the input!!!

I go to the Dr. Friday and hopefully I hear awesome news that I'm dilated to a 4 and 90% effaced! ha ha (Enjoy the pictures I don't really plan on posting anymore of me until the baby comes).
