My sister Melissa came and stayed with me and Alexis when Jaron went back to a full week of work. It was great to have her here to help out and keep me company. She took some great pictures of Alexis as well!! I am in love with them. There were so many I just made a slide show of them instead. Alexis was 2 1/2 weeks old in them! I have some great ones of when she was a week old coming soon!

One Month
Alexis is a month old today! It's crazy! This past month has flown by! It is so fun to watch Alexis grow up! She has changed a lot! She still fits in her newborn clothes surprisingly. I thought she would be huge and wouldn't fit in them long. They are starting to get tight. She is starting to get into her 0-3 outfits which is so fun because I have so many cute outfits. I'm more excited for the cute shoes to fit too! She is a very strong baby! She loves to hold her head up and look around! Her favorite thing is talking to her. She will just smile and smile at us! We are so lucky to have a good baby!! She gets fussy but what baby doesn't. We get a ton of sleep! She'll go to bed around 11-1 and sleep 4 to 6 hours before waking up to eat again. So I only have to usually get up with her once a night. We love our Potato Bug and couldn't live with out her!!
Healing from a c-section isn't near as bad as I thought it would be!! Because I never pushed and had the emergency c-section I wasn't sore or worn out. The first week was a little painful but after that it hasn't been a big deal. The scar sucks but it is pretty low so I should be able to where most bikini's still... That is if I laser all my stretch marks. I have a million. It sucks!! I'm hating the weight issue but I'm trying and working on it. It is harder to loose than I thought it would be. Someday I will get my body back!! I can not wait!! If you have any great suggestions on great ways to loose weight while nursing I'd love to hear them!
Vegas Vaca
We took Alexis on her first mini vacation. It was a lot of fun to get out of the house! Alexis did great in the car! We stopped in St. George and hung out with Jaron's family and went to dinner. Then we went to Las Vegas for my step brothers wedding. It was really great to see all my step family down there because we rarely see each other anymore! The wedding was beautiful. They got married in the Las Vegas temple. We were there when they came out and took pictures. Alexis didn't love the pictures because of the wind and cried the whole time. We were those parents that couldn't there baby to stop crying. It was great. There lunch in had great food! And the reception was gorgeous! They decorated great!! I'm so happy to get my new sister in law Kim!! We love her so much!! My step brother has been dating her for around 5ish years. So we have got to know her very well and are excited she is officially part of the family! We stayed just a few blocks off the strip so we could avoid the smokey casino's for Alexis. We were still able to go walking on the strip. Alexis loved it.., She slept in her stroller the whole time. There isn't a ton to do in Vegas when you have a baby. It's not like you can go to the casino and ask for a car seat holder to put next to you. lol We still had a blast!! We ordered a lot of room service and relaxed a ton. On the way home we stopped back in St. George to have lunch with Jaron's family. It was great to be able to spend so much time with family and with my cute little family! We really enjoyed getting away!!

Happy Easter
Alexis was spoiled for Easter!! Between me and Jaron and all her grandparents she got a ton of stuff!! I had to go shopping a ton for the perfect Easter basket! But I found it and loved it! She got from us a new outfit, bubbles, a book, a Easter bunny blanket with a rattle, a lady bug toy, tights and her dress. My mom made her dress and got her a soft stuff lamb. My dad and Polly got her a stuffed bear with bunny ears. Her Great Grandma and Grandpa Van gave her money. And Lori and Gary got her a outfit with shoes, her first cabbage patch doll, bunny ears, and candy. So see she got spoiled! It was like Christmas for her!! Jaron got home in the morning and was able to spend the holiday his girls. We were also able to eat a great meal at his parents house and spend time with his family. Jaron and I got a new pair of sandals and candy. It's way more fun buying our potato bug stuff then us now! Hope everyone else had a great Easter!!

2 Weeks Old
Alexis is 2 weeks old today! It is crazy how fast it has gone by already!! She went to her check up this morning and has grown 1 1/4" already. She also weighs 7 lbs and 8 oz now. She is very healthy and doing great. She tried peeing on the Dr. as well.
We survived Jaron's first trip away from us. He was only gone for 3 nights and 2 days, but it was still no fun. My mom came and stayed with us to help out. It was very hard for Jaron to leave his little potato bug!
I'm learning what I can and can not eat that will upset her stomach. She's a very good baby so far!! Jaron and I have taken turns getting up with her and getting her to sleep every night. It helps a ton to have a great partner.
On Monday I felt like a official mom after getting peed on and puked all over. She isn't a puker so it was quite a shocker to have her do that. I am loving being a mom! It is worth all the many stretch marks and extra weight! Yesterday I left Alexis with Jaron for a few hours while I went to my sister in laws scentsy party and the grocery store. It was so hard!! I had anxiety leaving her! By the time I was in the check out line I was dieing thinking I was never going to get home! lol Who knew it would be so hard to go to the grocery store!
Alexis was making the funniest faces on Saturday
She met her Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Van
She loves her swing! It's so funny to watch her in it because she's so tiny in it
I bonked Alexis head and felt sad! (No worries not hard just barely) It was the first time we ever made her cry. Very sad moment.
She does great on car rides. She passes right out!

Alexis Lorraine Laird is here!!
I would like you to meet my daughter, Alexis Lorraine Laird, and tell you how she came into this world. She was born early Friday morning, March 12, 2010, at 2:10 am. She weighed 7 lb 2 oz. So lets back up to the story on how she came into this world. On Wed. I was really hoping of hearing good news at the Dr. and having her that day. I found out I barely changed. I was devastated!! We had Jaron come home a day early from England and everything because I had a lot of the signs of going into labor. So I was desperate and did all the old wives tales to try and induce you. Still nothing so Thursday I did the last one Castor oil. The taste sucked but I could deal with it. The worst part was the burps from it. It wasn't to bad like I heard about. I was better by that night and was sad still nothing.
So me and Jaron got sucked into a door sales guy. While we were talking to them I started to get contractions 3 minutes apart. Not bad ones but ones that were very consistent and kind of hurt. So we ended up getting a security system that night, and they came and installed it that night. By the time they were done my contractions were still 3 min. apart but hurting worse. Jaron didn't think we needed to go to the hospital but I made him take me at 10:30 pm.
So we get to the hospital and get all our info to them and my contractions are 1 min apart but I could only feel every 3. But Alexis's heart beat was lower than they would like from 117-140 and they wanted 150 and higher. They told us they would watch us for a hour and see how she does. Right after that the Dr. comes in and tells us lets go ahead and break my water. Jaron was in shock. He was like Right Now? Like wait are you sure. It was funny. He sat on the couch for a min trying to process it. So around a hour after that I am wanting my epidural because I am the biggest baby and a lot less brave than I thought. Contractions Suck!! But I had to wait for almost 2 more hours for the guy to come in because he was in with a c-section.
After I got it I was great! So I'm talking to Jaron, my mom, Lori, and Gary, and all of a sudden the nurses come rushing in freaking out because Alexis's heart beat had really dropped to 40. They rolled me to my other side checked the monitor and gave me a shot and said they were giving me a emergency C-Section. One nurse gave Jaron operating outfit while they wheeled me into the other room. Everyone was in shock and I was bawling because I was scared for my baby. So I get in the operating room and there are people running around freaking out and I'm still not sure what all is going on. I just wanted Jaron. The anesthesiologist starts asking me if I can feel my stomach because they were trying to numb me fast. Well it wasn't numbing fast enough. Jaron comes in long enough to hear them tell me I'm getting put out then they kick him out. I don't remember anything after that. I guess they had Jaron leave the room so they didn't see them shove a tube down my throat. Jaron went down to the nursery with Alexis after she was born along with his parents and my mom. I wake up fast after being put under so they didn't expect it so they weren't there. So I wake up and don't know what's going on if I had my baby or what. They had to tell me. I was looking so forward to her actual birth and that experience so I just started bawling and couldn't stop saying I missed it all! and I want my baby! She needed to go get warmed up in the nursery for the first few hours. Until I was able to see her I watched a video that Gary had taken of her. I saw her 2 hours later and just cried!!
Jaron told me when she came out she had her eyes wide open and cried right away. He had to watch outside the door and look through the window. She cried right away and all the panic in the room just went away. From the time the nurses came in and got me and Alexis was born was 5-10 minutes.
She is so beautiful!! I can't believe she came from me and Jaron!! She is the biggest blessing in our lives. I don't know what we did without her!! She is a very healthy girl now!!
